I am a raw materials professional, specializing in textile development for apparel within the athletic wear industry. My first professional job after completing my undergraduate degree in the apparel industry is what really opened my eyes to how unsustainable of a world we live in, and how so much of this is a direct result from the fashion industry. I have a great passion and devotion to applying sustainable design thinking and principles to all that I do in both my personal and professional life.
The MASD program at MCAD has been instrumental helping me to develop as a sustainable design thinker and innovator. Through this program, I have been able to actively further my career within product design and development as it relates to sustainability.
Having grown up in Arizona and later moving to the Midwest and now New England, I have been fortunate enough to spend a good amount of time in a variety of different natural landscapes. In my more recent work and exploration, I have started to turn to the natural world for inspiration not only for informing different design solutions but also for solving a variety of day to day process-related problems. I hope to be able to continue to explore the world of biomimicry and biomimetic design solutions as we work towards a more sustainable world together!
